Spiritual fathers, forbidding to marry, abstaining from meats

Spiritual fathers, forbidding to marry, abstaining from meats

We’re not going through everything that Catholicism teaches that goes contrary to the Bible, or we would be here for months. But one of the things which one priest told me is, “if we can get the people to call us Father, and reverence us, in that sense with the name of God, then they’ll believe anything we tell them.” I’ve found that to be true.

Because I have asked many, many Catholics, “When you go to church, why do you call the priest Father? Do you not know that Jesus Christ Himself said not to do that?”

But they will believe the priests over Christ himself. I am not saying that every Catholic does. Many Catholics are really beginning to question what this religious organization teaches, because it doesn’t make sense anymore. They’re beginning to think on their own. I think that’s wonderful. I would suggest that they take the Bible. That is the truth of the word, right there.

The priests trying to say they can forgive your sins? They lie. They cannot even forgive their own.

Matthew, chapter 23. Let’s see what Christ said. In verse eight, he says, “But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ, and all ye are brethren.” He’s talking about Christians, now. “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

So when He’s referring to calling a man Father, as contrasted to the spiritual Father, and the Father who is God, the creator… He does not want the name Father given in the spiritual sense, to any individual who claims to be a priest, or Rabbi, or whatever.

Even the Lord’s prayer — Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be THY name…

Joseph-Muscat-kisses-Popes-ringNot the Pope’s name. Not the ‘Holy Father’. He’s no more holy than any Christian who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

And yet, this man is worshiped. His feet kissed, his hands kissed… [one woman claimed] he touched her, and that there was some deity [transfer], and she was so blessed by him touching her. The Pope is not deity… he is not God… he is a sinner. And he’s going to die to prove that he’s a sinner.

For the wages of sin is death. And that’s physical death and spiritual death, unless he’s been born again.

I’ve never heard him give a testimony to that point. I’ve never heard him tell anyone how to go to heaven when they die.

And then, we have over in chapter 4, first Timothy, there are two things that the demons and Satan himself have propagated into the church – when I say “the Church,” I am talking about a religious organization. We are not talking about a Christian church, we’re talking about a religious organization. Because the Christian church is made up of those who trust Jesus Christ and him alone for their salvation.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Here in first Timothy, chapter 4, there are two things that Satan puts into the minds and other religious organizations in order to oppose the word of God. And they are to abstaining from eating meat. That has been instituted by Catholicism.

To show you that Satan is the god of this world, and he surely is… in second Corinthians chapter 4 verse four… and he’s blinded the eyes of

For some, the moment of Christ’s death is the best part.

those who believe not the glorious gospel of Christ. That is: the death, burial, resurrection of Christ and Him alone, and therefore as payment for our sins.

Notice in verse one. The Spirit speaketh expressly – expressly. That’s the Holy Spirit – that in the latter times, some shall it be part from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

So this is Satanic. And the two Satanic things they are doing are named in verse three. Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats that God has created to be received with thanksgiving for them who believe and know the truth.

Forbidding to marry… And that is what the Pope has put out for their priests. Absolutely contrary to the word of God. And we wondered: does this man, this Pope, know anything about the Bible, whatsoever? Evidently not, or he wouldn’t do that. And if he did know the Bible, he’s falsely teaching it.

Whatever it might be, the Bible says: forbidding to marry – and this is what this organization does with their priests, and then put them out there, going against the Bible. And God says, this is Satanic doctrine. So this is what this Church is perpetrating. You can read it for yourself, and you ought to do that.

I had one of the local priests down to my house for supper. I turned him to this portion of Scripture. I read the first four verses. I said, “Would you tell me, sir, what these verses teach?” He had no idea.

I said, “It says right here, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, and they’re going to listen to and be seduced by seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. What do you think that means?”

Truthfully, you’re not going to believe what I’m saying, it’s hard to believe, but he had no idea. None.

I said, “Here’s what they’re following: Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meat, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving. Then why do you have fish on Friday? Where did you ever come up with a concoction like that?” This is spread worldwide, almost.

This is truly the god of this world, Satan, when he can perpetrate this kind of nonsense and have people who are supposed to have common sense believe this has something to do [with Jesus].

The Holy Ghost Is A Better Driver Than You

Once, when I was living in Boone, North Carolina, a friend collected me with his truck. This college town has quite a few steep residential streets, to say the least. We drove off to find a pick up game of basketball in one of Appalachian State’s gyms.

“I need to make a stop before we play,” my friend told me. “My boss and his wife are out of town and I’m dog-sitting.”

He drove up a winding street to a small parking lot, and I saw a set of fancy condos. The view from up here was stunning. Fall was in season. My friend went inside to take care of business, returned quickly, and we headed for the gym. I noticed that he was not going out of the parking lot the same way we had come; he was going to the rear of the lot, toward that perfect autumn vista.

He was talking to me as he drove. I wasn’t listening. Because to me, it appeared that he was about to send us over the edge of a hundred-foot cliff. I yelled to make him be quiet and maybe spare our lives. “Hey… Hey!… Hey-HEY-HEY!”

“What’s wrong with you?” he said, not braking.

Then I saw that there was a small paved street back there, totally invisible from the lot, curving around the “cliff”, and reconnecting with the road. The truck did a deep, smooth dip onto this one-lane back street. No problem at all. I remember eating my fist.

After it dawned on my friend what I had been screaming about, he was not capable of playing basketball very well. Because every time he looked at my face for the rest of the day, he laughed so hard, he cried.

That memory came back to me this week, as I struggled with the things of this world. I realized that I was receiving a message. The Holy Spirit whispered, Stop worrying. Just let me drive.

Galatians 3:11 mentions that the just shall live by faith, and that they would become as Abraham… Abraham, whose faith was counted as righteousness.

This occurred in Genesis 15:6, which is when Abraham was born again.  Paul said in Romans 5:1, Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

According to the Bible, the Lord doesn’t want our best. It is Christ’s best put to our account. For the true Christ follower, there should be some evidence of good works after this justification, after being born again and saved. But we don’t have to worry about being perfect– it is about being made perfect.

Sometimes when we are anxious about the future, we want to control things. To us, it seems that the Holy Spirit is sending us to a task that is beyond our abilities… or beneath. It seems that He is about to send us into the valley, headfirst. We want to take over the steering and the pedals. Doesn’t matter that the One currently driving is unfathomably better at it.

God makes a promise to justify the heathen through faith. Same as he promised Abraham, when He said, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

The Lord was reminding me of something. He is simply saying, “Relax, kid. I’m driving, not you.”
